Why Homeschool Photo Academy

I’m a photographer and videographer, and I’ve been teaching online since 2012. I built Homeschool Photo Academy because photography is one of the best ways for a young person to learn to see the world closely — and because most photography courses assume a full-time art student, not a homeschool schedule.

So I made the course I wished existed: a clear, 30-week path from “what do all these buttons do?” to confidently composing, shooting in manual, and editing a finished photo.

How your student learns

Short, focused video lessons — one week at a time, at your own pace. Every section ends with a hands-on project, so theory turns into real skill instead of forgotten notes.

Students join a supportive community space to share their work and ask questions, and I’m in there too. It’s self-paced, but never on your own.

Any camera works — a smartphone, a DSLR, or a mirrorless. The first weeks meet your student wherever they are.
